This brand new one-week LEGO Robotics course is perfect for students who love being creative, building with LEGO and want to experiment with LEGO Mindstorms programming.
No prior experience of LEGO building or robotics is required but we do recommend for students to have a basic understanding of using a computer, for example using a mouse and a keyboard.
During this 1-week programme at Camp Langley, students will have 5 x 3 hour sessions learning how to build and programme a basic robot to complete task set by our instructors, such as self-steering or following colours. Students will learn basic linear programming developing their ICT Skills.

Getting to Camp
Please ensure to drop off after 3pm and pick up on departure is after breakfast at 10am We can provide transfers from and to London Heathrow International Airport (LHR) on both arrival and departure dates – this will incur an additional charge of £25 each way. |
Accommodation
The boarding quarters contain practical bedrooms that sleep between 4 and 8 children per room. We always have separate quarters for boys and girls and try where possible to put children of a similar age in a room together. If you have any special requirements or would like to request to share with a friend, we will try to accommodate you, just let us know in advance. |
Meals
All meals at Langley are served in the dining hall, supervised by our caring Camp Leaders. You can expect three nutritional meals with both hot and cold options, which are specially catered with younger children in mind. Dietary requirements can be met when we are aware in advance. |
LEGO Robotics Course
Our LEGO Robotics camp is suitable for all students aged between 6 and 12 that have a basic understanding of using a computer, for example using a mouse and a keyboard. During the course, our students will learn how to build and programme a basic robot to complete several tasks set by our Xplore instructors. The course lasts for one week and takes place during 5 sessions in either the morning or afternoon for at least 3 hours. Each session will involve lots of construction as well as communicating with each other and our course leader. At the end of the week, each student will receive a certificate to show their completion of programme. |

Students do not need to bring any equipment with them, all materials will be provided. |
Excursions
During the week, our staff will take all our campers on an organised day trip excursion. From city day trips to London or Cambridge, to taking part in the ultimate tree house adventure at BeWilderwood or going to amazing local Safari Park – Africa Alive, this fully supervised trip is the perfect way to spend the day off-campus with new friends. |
Care & Supervision
The site at Camp Langley is perfectly enclosed and surrounded by English countryside so our young campers will feel right at home with everything they need on site. We know that staying away from home can sometimes be a bit daunting, so our caring staff are really great at knowing how to deal with homesickness and will keep parents updated on how everyone is getting on. |
International Camp
Our camps are available to children from all over the world. Integration and immersion is central to how we operate as an organisation, and by encouraging lots of social interaction between different cultures and creating a diverse international community at camp, it can really develop every child’s self-confidence in communicating with others. |
