Leadership Camp

Our Leadership Camp offers older campers a unique opportunity to build and develop skills in key areas of leadership, supporting them in learning transferable skills to take on into later life.

During this 2-week camp, our specially trained and experience camp instructors will guide our 15 to 17 year-old campers through a series of sessions designed to test and develop their effective team work, problem solving, communication and presentation skills.

The course will be made up of 3-hour daily interactive workshops, in which we cover all aspects of developing key skills in leadership – from idea sharing, understanding others and their behaviour to public speaking and entrepreneurism.

In addition to these workshops, our leadership campers will also actively participate in evening sessions, shadowing our camp staff, culminating in the challenge of designing and running their own evening to inspire and engage the younger students on-site. They will also take part in an overnight expedition.

Getting to Camp

Please ensure to drop off after 3pm and pick up on departure is after breakfast at 10am

We can provide transfers from and to London Heathrow International Airport (LHR) on both arrival and departure dates – this will incur an additional charge of £25 each way.

Accommodation

Accommodation at Camp Framlingham is set across 7 boarding houses, which creates a large campus-style atmosphere. Dorms are furnished to a comfortable standard with 2 to 6 bed per room.

We always have separate quarters for boys and girls and where possible place campers of a similar age in a room together.

If you have any special requirements or would like to request to share with a friend, we will try to accommodate you, just let us know in advance.

Meals

Meal times at Camp Framlingham offer a range of freshly cooked nutritious food, all served within the grand dining hall, located in the heart of the main building.

As well as traditional English cuisine, the kitchen also offers a range of international cuisine throughout the week with both hot and cold options.

The dining hall is always open for campers to collect water and is accessible from the main social area of the campus, which is also in the main building.

Dietary requirements can be met when we are aware in advance.

Leadership Course

During the camp, students will prepare and participate in an overnight expedition, designed to test their planning, decision making, teamwork and leadership.

Campers will also be able to enjoy their own independence during our excursions, allowing them to discover their excursion destinations for themselves.

By the end of the 2-weeks, we hope our campers are more confidence in their own skills and inspiring others.

Kit

No equipment will be required as this will be provided, however campers will need to bring sensible outdoor clothing and a strong can-do attitude.

Excursions

During the 2-week programme, our staff will take all our campers on 3 organised day trip excursions.

These fully supervised trips are the perfect way to spend the day off-campus with new friends – from day trips to big cities such London and Cambridge or social trips to Norwich or Ipswich for shopping or bowling.

(3 excursions during 2-week programme – Wednesday, Saturday, Wednesday)

Care & Supervision

Our Camp Leaders are responsible for the pastoral care of all those in our care and ensure that everyone is sleeping well, eating well, joining in, making friends and having a great time.

During free time, our teenagers are able to explore the campus with friends, whilst being supervised by their house parents.

Being located in a town, we offer campers the ability to go off-site as an alternative to an activity session; however a member of Xplore staff will always accompany them.

International Camp

Our camps are available to children from all over the world.

Integration and immersion is central to how we operate as an organisation, and by encouraging lots of social interaction between different cultures and creating a diverse international community at camp, it can really develop every child’s self-confidence in communicating with others.
